Three lady musicians from two continents. One goal: to rock the party. Ladies Rock Night is a crazy trio who will play just about anything on accordion, guitar, stomp box, and ukuleles and percussion: American roots music, Cajun grooves, and good ole rock 'n' roll. Ginger and Renée met for the first time playing music on the streets of Hamburg, Germany, where percussionist Maike made the band complete. United by their love of busking and trashy 80s music, they joined forces to get the rock party on the roll and get everyone out on the dance floor.
Renée de
la Prade (accordion/ukelele/stompbox) - With one boot in folk and one
boot in rock, San Francisco-born Renée de la Prade follows in the footsteps
of artists like Shane McGowan and Angus Young... but on accordion, stomp-box
and baritone ukulele. She also throws in some Cajun spice, soul music and reggae,
even sea shanties; anything that will start a good party and keep it grooving.
Ginger Wade (guitar/ukebass)
- The brassy blonde with a punk rock attitude and an oversized voice to match.
Spawned from New York City’s RiotGrrl underground, Ginger has evolved
into a global nomad with an electric guitar and a thomping ukelele bass, her
style spanning blues to pop to rock ‘n’ roll, from Bessie Smith
to Poly Styrene and everything in between.
Maike Erdmann (washboard/cajon) - Growing up in the coalfields of Germany's Ruhr valley, the banging and screeching of industrial mining machinery sparked her love of rhythm and percussion. From there she set off to explore the African and Cuban rhythms that led her to the gateway to the world: Hamburg. With her experience in salsa and folk pop, she now sets the grooves rolling on washboard and cajon.

ROCK NIGHT: Drei Musikerinnen, zwei Länder, ein Ziel:
die Party zu rocken. Das verrückte Trio spielt sich mit Akkordeon,
E-Gitarre, Ukulele, Cajon, Stompbox, Waschbrett und unbezähmbarer
Energie einmal quer durch die amerikanische Rockgeschichte: Roots Music,
Cajun Grooves, Surf Rock, Punk. Plus Eigenkompositionen - hier gibt's
alles,was das Rocker*innen Herz begehrt.
Aus San Francisco und New York an der Elbe gelandet trafen sich Ginger
und Renée beim Musikmachen auf Hamburgs Straßen. Am Elbstrand
sammelten sie Maike samt Trommeln und Sticks ein. Mit geteilter Leidenschaft
für tanzbare Grooves, trashiger 80er Attitüde und mit Grrrl
power im Herzen bringen die 3 jede Menge Spaß in eure Clubs, Cafés,
Scheunen oder den Highway to Hell.
Renée de la Prade (Akkordeon/Ukelele/Vox/Stompbox) – Mit einem Fuß im Folk und dem anderen im Rock steht Renée aus San Francisco in der Tradition von Musikern wie Shane McGowan und Angus Young … nur eben an Akkordeon, Stompbox und Ukulele. Manchmal mischt sie noch eine Prise Cajun, Soul, Reggae und sogar Shanties mit in die Suppe. Einfach alles, was Party macht und groovt!
Ginger Wade (Ukebass/Vox/Gitarre) - Aus dem New Yorker RiotGrrl Underground stammend, wurde aus dem Blondschopf mit Punkrock-Attitüde und übergroßer Stimme eine globale Nomadin. Ihrer E-Gitarre und ihrem Ukulele-Bass entlockt sie alles von Blues über Pop zu Rock’n’Roll, von Bessie Smith zu Poly Styrene.

Erdmann (Washbrett/Cajon) - Als Kind des Ruhrpotts weckten
das Rattern und Quietschen der Fördertürme schon früh ihre
Liebe zur Percussion. Kaum war der Kohlenstaub abgewischt, machte sie
sich auf in afrikanische und kubanische Rhythmuswelten. Dazu kamen eine
Portion Salsa und Folkpop und schließlich schnappte sie sich Waschbrett
und Cajon und sorgt für den goldrichtigen Groove bei Ladies Rock
Night.
